At Merit, we believe that our students deserve a quality education.  Our instructor has over thirty years’ experience in the Medical Billing & Coding field, and fifteen years’ teaching experience.  Her practical knowledge of the industry enables her to give students a true feel for what they will encounter in their day-to-day work environment.  She holds all of the certifications that our students sit for, giving them an understanding of what to expect, test taking tricks and ways to prepare. 

In addition to teaching, she has reviewed medical texts for McGraw Hill Publishing, and consulted on the National Heathcareer Association’s Certified Billing and Coding Specialist Exam.  She is in the process of editing the CPC Study Guide for Elsevier currently and is a current evaluator for Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), an organization which assesses medical programs across the country. She also served as Director of Career Services in her previous position, thus giving her industry connections that benefit Merit Training Institute students.

Our Microsoft Office instructor has spent over the past decade using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.  As those who have worked with these programs know, there are many ways to do the same thing and it helps emmensely to have an instructor that can teach beyond the lessons and projects to give you shortcuts and ways to work more efficiently.
